ROBOTICS – THE TOOWOOMBA FIRST® LEGO® LEAGUE LEGENDS
FIRST® LEGO® League is a competition where teams of students build, program and compete with a robot, while also learning about a modern problem in science and engineering and developing solutions for it. The entire competition for the year is based around one theme. Past themes included natural disasters, senior citizens, food health & safety, climate change, medical science, and nanotechnology. Tournaments are run with the feel of a sporting event and teams compete like crazy while having the time of their lives. What FIRST® LEGO® League teams accomplish is nothing short of amazing. It’s fun, it’s exciting, and the skills they learn will last a lifetime. For more information regarding FIRST® LEGO® League, visit – http://firstaustralia.org/programs/first-lego-league/
The Toowoomba FIRST LEGO League Legends is open to students from all schools. We meet at the Concordia Hume St. campus from 3:30-4:45pm.
In Semester One, students will learn to construct and program LEGO Mindstorms robots to satisfy a number of given tasks. In Semester Two, LEGO will release a new set of challenges for all participating teams to undertake. The Toowoomba LEGO League Legends will work together to creatively address the challenges and compete against the best in our region.
